This new drop-off program will make it easier for residents to recycle items like flexible plastic\, foam packaging and small electronics that aren’t collected directly from homes. \n\n\n\nJames Bay Market949 Superior StreetSaturdays\, May 24 to October 49 a.m. – 3 p.m. \n\n\n\nRecycle BC is excited to support a service pilot as part of ongoing research into the feasibility of various collection option for flexible plastic and foam packaging materials in Victoria. \n\n\n\nThis pilot program responds to feedback from residents—64 per cent of whom report challenges recycling these hard-to-collect materials—and supports Zero Waste Victoria’s goal of cutting landfill waste by 50 per cent by 2040. It also aligns with the Capital Regional District’s Solid Waste Management Plan. \n\n\n\n“Many residents in our community want to recycle these common materials but face barriers getting to existing facilities\,” said Melanie Tromp Hoover\, Lead\, Solid Waste Reduction. “Beyond the Curb creates more options\, closer to home.” \n\n\n\nThe following materials will be accepted free of charge at the collection events: \n\n\n\n\nFlexible Plastic Packaging\n\n\n\nWhite and Coloured Foam Packaging\n\n\n\n\nThe City of Victoria will also be accepting specific electronics and appliances that are not part of Recycle BC’s program\, only at the Beyond the Curb Hub at 1234 Yates Street. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, and to view an accepted items list\, visit victoria.ca/BeyondTheCurb.

DESCRIPTION:Recycle BC\, the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) and Planet Earth Recycling Ltd. are teaming up for a series of recycling depot events. \n\n\n\nBring your glass\, flexible plastics\, foam packaging\, mixed containers\, paper and cardboard for free and unlimited drop off. \n\n\n\nSort your materials before you come or use the depot’s sorting bins. \n\n\n\nPlease note\, we only accept residential materials at these events; materials from businesses or industries will not be accepted. \n\n\n\nThe events are at the Peachland Community Centre on March 8\, April 12\, May 10\, June 14\, July 12\, Aug. 9\, Sept. 13\, Oct. 11.

DESCRIPTION:Recycle beyond the bin! Not everything is accepted in your residential recycling bins. Drop off your depot-only recyclables at The City of New Westminster’s recycling pop-up event and make a positive impact on our community and environment! Their knowledgeable Solid Waste and Recycling Team members will be on site to answer questions and help guide you on how to recycle right in order to minimize recycling contamination.   Accepted materials: \n\n\n\n\nSoft and hardcover books\n\n\n\nSoft\, flexible plastics\n\n\n\nStyrofoam\n\n\n\nTextiles and clothing\n\n\n\nSmall household appliances (ex. Toasters\, coffee makers\, etc.)\n\n\n\nSmall scrap metals (ex. Pots and pans\, broken hammers\, etc.)\n\n\n\n\nThe City of New Westminster will NOT be accepting large appliances\, large scrap metals\, large electronics\, glass\, garbage\, other recyclables not mentioned above. SUMMARY:Pop-Up Depot at 1080 Industrial Way\, Parksville
DESCRIPTION:We’ve combined all flexible plastics into one collection category for recycling!\n\n\n\nRecycle BC is excited to continue to offer the Parksville Pop-Up Depot recycling collection events through 2025 to Parksville and area residents. The events will be held on Saturdays from 10AM-3PM at 1080 Industrial Way\, Parksville\, in partnership with the Parksville Community Centre Society (PCCS). \n\n\n\n\n\n“This is great news for the public and the environment\,” said Duane Round\, President\, PCCS. “These events will save residents from driving to Nanaimo or sending this material to the landfill and will help move us a little closer towards Net Zero Waste in our community.” \n\n\n\nThe following materials will be accepted free of charge at the collection events: \n\n\n\n\nFlexible Plastic Packaging\n\n\n\nWhite and Coloured Foam Packaging\n\n\n\nGlass Packaging\n\n\n\nPaper Packaging and Cardboard\n\n\n\n\n“Recycle BC is excited to continue to offer pop-up recycling events in 2025 for residents of Parksville\, Qualicum Beach\, and surrounding areas through our partnership with the PCCS\,” said Brendan McShane\, Director\, Collection\, Recycle BC. “These events offer a closer recycling solution for depot-only materials\, mixed paper\, and cardboard and will help keep these materials out of the landfill and our environment.” \n\n\n\nTo view all events\, visit the Parksville Pop-Up Recycling Depot Series here. \n\n\n\nThank you to the community for your support and for bringing your recyclable materials to the pop-up events for collection!
