May 19, 2024, marks the 10-year anniversary of the launch of the Recycle BC program. We’re proud to celebrate 10 years of collaborative impact and success following the launch of the Recycle BC program in 2014. As the first full EPR program for packaging and paper in North America, together with our partners, we have continued to advance environmental outcomes and achieve program objectives and success on behalf of our producer members.
We’re proud of the significant impact and evolution of the program over the past decade with impressive achievements in the volume of tonnes collected and recycled, the number of communities participating in our program, the investment in recycling technology and infrastructure and the advances in plastics recycling. This work is collective work. Our achievements are the results of a united journey with member producers, collection partners, First Nation communities, post-collection service providers, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, our advisory committee and other partners. We’re grateful and humbled to share in our collective success, which reflects the combined efforts of so many dedicated and passionate partners.
