Multi-Material BC has joined eleven other organizations from across the plastics value chain, including Unilever, Coca-Cola and Mars, as a participant in the New Plastics Economy. The New Plastics Economy is led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and brings together key stakeholders to rethink and redesign the future of plastics, specifically plastic packaging.
The New Plastics Economy initiative aims to overcome the limitations of today’s incremental improvements and fragmented initiatives to create a system with fundamentally better economic and environmental outcomes.
MMBC focuses on recycling packaging and printed paper, so this initiative aligns with our goal of ensuring more of these materials are recycled. Properly disposing of recyclables, whether at home or away, helps keep garbage out of our oceans, natural environment and landfills.
