Allen Langdon, Recycle BC Managing Director, wins “Lighting the Way Award”

Allen accepts Lighting the Way award.

The annual U.S. Product Stewardship Forum acknowledges the contributions of company leaders who have implemented successful and progressive stewardship programs and policies. At the 2017 forum held in Boston, Allen Langdon, our Managing Director, was awarded the “Lighting the Way Award” for running one of the best extended producer responsibility programs in the world.

Allen has been Recycle BC’s managing director since its inception in 2014 and has led the creation of a province-wide recycling program that efficiently manages residential packaging and printed paper recycling in BC.

Recycle BC services over 98% of BC through curbside, multi-family or depot collection, ensuring that over 185,000 tonnes of packaging and printed paper are collected from households and depots to be recycled.

Allen also serves on the PSI advisory council, and has brought his extensive knowledge of stewardship operations to turn Recycle BC into the new standard for environmentally conscious post-consumer packaging and printed paper management.
