Notice of Webinars with Information on MMBC’s Communications Activities – Thursday, January 30

Multi-Material British Columbia (MMBC) plans to hold webinars to describe its resident communications activities and support it will provide to collectors of packaging and printed paper (PPP) as part of its recycling program due to start in May 2014. One webinar will be for local government collectors as these collectors have primary responsibility for resident education; another webinar will be for private sector and not-for-profit collectors where MMBC has primary responsibility for resident education. Both webinars will be held on January 30, 2014.

Please note these will not be in-person meetings and will only be available via webinar.

Who should attend the Local Government Webinar:

  • Solid waste/recycling operations managers and communications managers at local governments that have executed contracts with MMBC to provide curbside collection, multi-family building collection and/or depot collection of PPP

Who should attend the Private Sector and Not-for-Profit Webinar:

  • Solid waste/recycling operators and communication managers at private sector companies that have executed contracts with MMBC to provide multi-family building collection and/or depot collection of PPP
  • Recycling operators and communications representatives at not-for-profit organizations that have executed contracts with MMBC to provide multi-family building collection and/or depot collection of PPP
Webinar for Local Government CollectorsTime: 11 a.m. to 12 noon Pacific

This session will include:

  • Overview of MMBC’s province-wide communications strategy and activities
  • Review of local government role in delivering resident education including resident education financial top ups
  • Information on MMBC’s tool kits for local government collectors providing curbside collection, multi-family building collection and/or depot collection

Webinar for Private Sector and Not-for-Profit CollectorsTime: 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Pacific

This session will include:

  • Overview of MMBC’s province-wide communications strategy and activities
  • MMBC’s approach to providing education for multi-family building residents receiving collection from an MMBC-contracted private sector or not-for-profit collector
  • MMBC’s approach to providing education for residents using depots operated by an MMBC-contracted private sector or not-for-profit collector
  • Review of private sector and not-for-profit collector role in delivering resident education
  • Implementation timeline for MMBC’s resident education activities
