Residents in Chilliwack are now able to take their packaging and paper recyclables to Chilliwack Bottle Depot, without charge, as it joins the Multi-Material BC (MMBC) network of more than 200 depots. This depot provides an additional location to drop off glass and plastic bags as Chilliwack joins the MMBC program for curbside collection.
Chilliwack Bottle Depot, located at #2-45934 Tretheway Avenue, Chilliwack accepts all materials in MMBC’s residential packaging and paper recycling program, including non-deposit glass bottles and jars, plastic bags and plastic foam packaging, along with curbside recycling materials such as newsprint, cardboard, metal containers, plastic containers, spiral wound cans and paper packaging that held liquid when sold, such as coffee cups and soup cartons. The depot accepts materials dropped off during regular business hours, Monday to Saturday, 8:30am-6pm and Sunday, 10am-5pm.
“We are pleased to increase depot access for Chilliwack residents,” said Allen Langdon, Managing Director of MMBC. “Now that Chilliwack has joined the MMBC program, we want to ensure depot access is readily available to residents, so all materials that can be responsibly recycled are, including materials not accepted in curbside recycling like plastic bags, foam packaging and glass.”
