Our national partner, Canadian Stewardship Services Alliance Inc. (CSSA), is a Signatory Partner of the Canada Plastics Pact, working towards a common vision of a circular economy for plastic in which it never becomes waste or pollution.
Launching today, the Canada Plastics Pact is a collaborative initiative that unifies businesses, NGOs, and government across Canada’s plastics value chain in a significant step toward a circular economy for plastics. CSSA and Recycle BC are proud endorsers of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, and CSSA will further collaborate with Canadian businesses and others to realize the vision of a circular economy for plastics.
Collectively, CSSA’s client-recycling programs, including Recycle BC, managed over 142,000 tonnes of plastic packaging in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario in 2019. We will continue to work closely with CSSA to keep innovating and supporting the circular economy for plastic. As North America’s only full producer responsibility program, our work is an important contributor to the vision of the Canada Plastics Pact.
